Rig your favorite bait the way you always do. After several fish and the fishing slows down, flip the plastic bait around. This will give them a different aspect of the bait, you will be able to trigger a couple more bite. Switch to a bright color jighead to give them something different, subtle changes will trigger more bites.... after doing all those, change the weight of the jighead. Slower fall and slower presentation.
We all have our go to color but it's those days like yesterday at Clear Lake that if you didn't give them what they wanted, you didn't catch as much as the guy in the Blue Hobie Kayak... always good to keep a good selection of colors plastic and color jigheads with different weight size.
